PhD Inter-organizational relationships health care
This research project will focus on the dynamic developments of inter-organizational relationships in health care. The role of lateral relationships, in particular networks in the health care sector should receive attention. The way in which organizations in this sector manifest themselves in networks will have a strong impact on their performance and their sustained existence. In this area the role of trust seems to be important in particular for the development of such networked relationships. Attention will go to the way in which Dutch insurance companies control their lateral network in the near future.
The research is part of a wider research program entitled Governance and Control Change: The practice of interorganizational and intra-organizational dependencies which is situated within the research center on accounting and control change. The PhD researcher will be positioned in the School of Management of the Open Universiteit. The research program consists of 3 subprograms.
1. The development of control in interorganizational relationships in health care: the impact of organizational culture.
2. The role of trust as an intermediate factor in the dynamic development of interorganizational relationships in health care.
3. Organizational culture and accounting and control change in hospitals. The second and third of the three subprograms are PhD research projects. The first subprogram is central and is driven by a postdoc scholar. The program as a whole is administered by a professor of
Business Economics.
